Death Gate's Scripts for CircleMUD

As some of you may know, Death Gate was a MUD that was based on the book series "The Death Gate Cycle" by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman. The MUD, written by Eric Green, has since been 'retired', and the code released to the public. The MUD itself was based off an old version of CircleMUD. However, it was written in C++, and had a unique scripting system. Unlike the old MobTriggers, DG's Scripts could react to almost anything, and were able to be attached to mobs, rooms, even objects! Thus began the big drive to use these in normal, C based CircleMUD.

In the beginning, both Mark Heilpern and Chris Powell were working on this project. Chris, however, had some setbacks, and Mark released a copy first. This copy was rough, but it worked. Since then, it has been refined, cleaned up, and debugged. Chris has decided that instead of trying to make a 'competing' product, he would assist in the development of the current one. Since it's release, many things have been written for it. This page is a compilation of all data on this subject.

This page has files from Mark Heilpern's site of DG Scripts, which can be found right here. Take a look, especially if you don't want your files gzipped like they are here.

The original information on the scripts, as they appeared in the original code, can be found on Eric's site at http://www.imaxx.net/~thrytis/. It's worth a look to see what other projects he does. You can also download a copy of the C++ Death Gate code there.
